Despite the lack of funding from donor agencies for outreach work, we have been targetting female (injecting) drug users since 2006. Many of these women are `hard to reach' and hidden within their communities. We provide a range of harm reduction services, peer mentoring, advice and information about substance misuse, treatment and HIV prevention.

The staff of Dristi Nepal are committed to responding to the needs of female drug users and those living with HIV. We advocate on behalf of woman, for their inclusive rights, and endeavour to challenge the stigma, discrimination and gender-based exploitation / violence that we so often face.

Dristi Nepal acts as a `gateway' and referral point to enable access to other treatment services in local areas: i.e. OST - (Oral Substitution Therapy), Treament and Care Home, Needle & Syringe Exchange Programs, VCT, etc.

Through the Outreach Program, Dristi Nepal has contacted more than 300 female drug users in and outside the valley.

"Each and every female drug users has rights to gender-sensitive treatment and existing services."
